Wraparound decking and private loch views
Knoydart Hide is situated a 5 minute walk from the pier, the village and The Old Forge, mainland Britain’s most remote pub (Guinness book of Records) and seafood restaurant; yet has the luxury of an unrivalled private woodland setting offering you a romantic hideaway for those who wish to escape the wider world for a while. Hideaway for a romantic break or be as connected as you want to be at Knoydart Hide.
South facing by design, Knoydart Hide is bathed in natural sunlight all day long, and the floor to ceiling glass windows allow you to share lazy days and unrivalled breakfast in bed views all day long. On the decking there are flush led decking lights and outdoor furniture to relax in including a large arc freestanding Fatboy double hammock built for cuddling up in! Built with artisan copper roofing and roans and clad with birch, the building itself is designed to blend into the natural lanscape over time, making it at one with the natural environment a living piece of art. Wraparound decking extends around Knoydart Hide and provides the ideal setting to relax with your morning latte from the Nespresso machine where you can breakfast alfresco watch, otter and pinemartins in their natural setting and drink in the peace and tranquility of the morning.
The private woodland that borders Knoydart Hide is populated by Scots Pine, Silver Birch and large Copper Beeches, amongst which a carpet of handpicked wildflowers, Monbresia and Wild Knoydart Wood Sorrel flourish. Our wildflower meadow was sourced from the same cut of turf used to carpet the Olympic Stadium at the London 2012 Olympics with 32 species of wildflowers including poppies and yellow rattle. Managed on one cut per year to allow our wildlife and butterflies to flourish naturally and for you to enjoy. At the right time of year, you will be able to pick wild Blackberries, Raspberries and Mushrooms but, whatever the season our woodland hideaway offers nature’s carpet in all its wildest beauty.
The Knoydart local wildlife is also very inquisitive and you will more often than not have to share the wraparound decking with Roe Deer, Stags, Hinds, Pine Martins and other woodland foragers. Whilst dining al fresco, you will also be able to watch an Eagle glide overhead, an Otter return from its morning dip or a boat slip its tender rope and head out across the bay.
Knoydart is known as “Britain’s last wilderness” – a place where you can slow down and breathe easy in your own time and space together.
